The women's CALIFORNIA T-Shirt features a sleek V-neckline, loose fit, and distinctly feminine style. This style can be knitted in two different ways: in the round, seamlessly from the top down using circular needles, or flat, back and forth from the bottom up with seams worked on straight needles. The knit combines openwork, cable, seed stitch, and 1/1 ribbing, made with WORSTED • ARAN wool yarn.

SEAMLESS (from top to bottom and back and forth):

The California T-Shirt is worked from the top down using a combination of openwork, cable, and seed stitches in a Worsted-Aran cotton yarn. The back is worked in a trapezoid pattern back and forth with increases, then stitches are picked up to work the shoulders of the front separately. Once the back and front are joined, the knitting continues in the round to form a tube, with increases in between creating the armholes and neckline. The piece continues straight down to the bottom, where 1x1 or cable ribbing finishes the collar and V-neckline.

WITH SEAM (flat, from bottom to top back and forth):

The California T-Shirt is knitted flat, from the bottom up, starting with 1/1 ribbing, then with a central openwork motif, cables and seed stitch on the sides, in WORSTED • ARAN cotton yarn. You will work the back first, then the front. The straight shape is maintained until the armholes, where the shoulders and neckline are shaped by decreases. Finally, stitches are picked up at the armholes and neckline for a 1/1 or cabled ribbing finish.
